I spent the first week of April in Toronto Canada, meeting the local queers, playing with local kinksters, assisting Courtney Trouble on the latest installment of her porno travelogue Roulette, and attending the celebration of the 2010 Feminist Porn Awards! I'll be posting about my experiences over the next few days...
This is me with the Visionary of the Year, and one of my favorite directors to work for, Shine Louise Houston. During the panel Houston invoked Audre Lourde's quote "You can't dismantle the master's house with the master's tools" and turned this concept on its head in a way I really agree with: subverting the form by using the porn medium to document queer sexual performance is truly radical, and Houston does it with such an artful eye and commitment to encouraging her community to express themselves without shame.

tearful themselves, declared that porn was the very first place that they felt accepted and understood for having a genderqueer identity.
